KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three public transport vehicle operators with over 1000 tickets were convicted on Monday for breaches of the Road Traffic Act.

Reports from the police are that the men were arrested in Kingston and St Catherine by the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) on Friday, September 20.

Convicted are:

  • Forty-year-old Roger Bartley, bus operator of Eltham View, Spanish Town, St Catherine who has 1028 outstanding tickets and was fined $84,000 along with a license suspension of two years.
  • Thirty-nine-year-old Andrew Bailey, taxi operator of Tavern Crescent, Kingston 6 who has 272 outstanding tickets and was fined $72,000 with a one year license suspension.
  • Thirty-six-year-old Duwayne Barrett, taxi operator of Stony Hill, St Andrew who has 189 outstanding tickets and was fined $54,000 along with a license suspension of two years.

All three men attended the Kingston and St Andrew Traffic Court on Monday, where they were convicted.
