The Government is planning to spend $12.9 billion during the upcoming fiscal year to begin various road works under the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project.
The money has been set aside in the 2020/21 Estimates of Expenditure.
The funds will be used to commence construction on the Harbour View to Yallahs Bridge road and the Yallahs to Port Antonio leg.
In addition, land acquisition will continue along the May Pen to Williamsfield road.
The Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project is funded by the Government and the China Exim Bank.
