Eric Hosin, president of Guardian Life Limited, has said that graduates who pursue careers that require proficiency in mathematics such as actuaries, gain better-paying jobs in Jamaica and across the globe.
Hosin was speaking yesterday in his capacity as vice-president of the Insurance Association of Jamaica (IAJ) during a workshop it sponsored for math teachers at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston. The workshop was organised by the Ministry of Education’s National Mathematics Team, coordinated by Dr Tamika Benjamin.
