General Accident has reported that its profit in first half of this year was $27 million.
That was well below the performance of the first six months of 2014, when General Accident reported $187 million in profit.
According to General Accident, the largest factor behind the disappointing result was its claim experience.
In its report, the company noted that, over short periods of time, its loss ratios may experience significant volatility. Notwithstanding that, the insurer said it remained confident that the performance in the second half of the year will improve significantly
