A woman accused of  being involved in a health insurance scam has been arrested by the police.

Twenty-five-year-old Dian Brown, a factory worker of  Central Village, Spanish Town, St. Catherine was on Wednesday charged with breaches of  the Larceny Act.

According to the police, from August last year to March this year, Craig Graham, who operates a dialysis centre in Spanish Town, conspired with several persons, including Miss Brown, and submitted fraudulent claims to Sagicor Life Health Insurance Scheme. The claims amounted to more than one million dollars.

It is alleged that the claims were paid to Miss Brown’s account. She is accused of  withdrawing the funds and sharing the proceeds with Mr. Graham.

Miss Brown and Mr. Graham, who was previously charged, will appear in court on August 28.
