KINGSTON, Jamaica – Leading global provider of network infrastructure software solutions for communications, Alepo, has announced a partnership to support plans by new mobile spectrum company, Caricel, to bring 4G LTE service to Jamaica.

Alepo, announced Tuesday that it will partner with US-based system integrator, Comtech Telecommunications Corporation, to support Caricel’s islandwide LTE network deployment in Jamaica with a complete LTE monetisation solution.

Caricel is vying to be the first 4G LTE network in Jamaica, as other communication service providers, including Digicel and Lime (Flow), are just preparing to roll out their own LTE network, as well.

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a 4G wireless broadband technology expected to provide faster service, download more pictures, let consumers watch movies anytime and provide video chat on-the-go.
