Rezworth Burchenson, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Victoria Mutual Wealth Management, has said 75 per cent of Jamaicans do not have a retirement plan.

Mr. Burchenson said this could have serious implications for fiscal policy, taxes and economic growth because the state will have to bear the responsibility for these persons.

He wants the the challenges faced by retirees and the need for employees to start planning early for retirement to be discussed more at the national level.

Mr. Burchenson was speaking at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting in Mandeville last evening.
