Contributing to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament this afternoon, Montague said the amnesty will run for 60 days.

The amnesty was first announced two weeks ago by Transport Minister, Mike Henry, while making his contribution to the Sectoral Debate.
Henry said at the time that the plan is to allow motorists to pay outstanding traffic tickets without attracting demerit points.
He said the amnesty would give motorists the opportunity to begin with a clean slate before the new Road Traffic Act is implemented.
Debate on the far-reaching Road Traffic Bill has already started in the House of Representatives.
