Yum yum! This little one from Tobolski Basic School is fed her lunch by Alysia White, assistant vice-president, Sagicor Group Marketing, while her friend looks on.

WITH much fun and fanfare, the Sagicor Foundation Adopt-A-School programme was officially launched on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

Under the programme, three early childhood institutions are adopted for the school year 2018-2019 with the foundation committed to providing upgrades to the schools’ infrastructure in a bid to enhance the overall environment for the children and teachers. The three adopted schools are Tobolski Basic School in Brown’s Town, St Ann; Chantilly Basic School in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, and Clifton Basic School in Portmore, St Catherine. In addition to renovation and refurbishing works, throughout the programme the schools will be treated to a Christmas fun-day, health fair, reading day and schools’ closing fete.

As an introduction to the year ahead, the students were feted in fine style following the official launch ceremony where they enjoyed a grand Fun Zone outfitted with numerous child-friendly activities to entertain the young and the ‘young at heart’.

Here are some highlights.
