News that the island’s tourism sector earned US$2.2 billion last year, a 5.8 per cent increase over 2013, is indeed heart-warming.
The fact that the country welcomed more than two million stopover visitors for 2014 is, we believe, testament to the strength of Jamaica’s tourism product.
It is also the result of hard work by the sector — hoteliers, owners of villas and apartments, owners and operators of attractions, as well as the Jamaica Tourist Board.
