Several new residential developments have recently got approval from the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), suggesting a construction boom across the capital city.

Allicute Construction and Equipment Limited will be constructing several two-storey townhouses and studio apartments at 21 Long Lane, St Andrew.

The building application plans for the group of townhouses and studios was one of eight multi-family apartment and townhouse developments recently approved by the Building and Town Planning Committee of the KSAMC at mid-January meetings.

Seven of the developments were approved at the final building meeting for 2017 in December.

At the meeting on Wednesday (January 17), one new multi-family development was approved.

At the Long Lane development, 32 two-storey townhouses and eight three-storey blocks containing 48 studio units will be constructed.

Another of the multi-family building applications approved in December by the Committee was a revised application seeking permission to build 33 two-bedroom units and 59 studio units at Crieffe Road, Kingston 6. The original application to the KSAMC on November 15, 2015, was to build 22 two-bedroom units and 42 studios.
