The funds which were raised from this year’s staging of the ICWI/Jamaica Reach To Recovery Pink Run was officially handed over to its main beneficiary Jamaica Reach to Recovery on Friday, November 24, 2017, at ICWI’s Corporate Headquarters.

The ICWI/Jamaica Reach To Recovery Pink Run planning committee announced last month that $3.2 million was raised from the 5K Walk/Run.

The funds were officially handed over to the beneficiary, Jamaica Reach To Recovery at a ceremony on Friday, November 24, 2017.

The Jamaica Reach to Recovery is an affiliate of the Jamaica Cancer Society that provides emotional and psychological support to breast cancer survivors, and also assists women to access lifesaving tests and treatments.

This is a record amount raised from the event, which is in its 17th year and its third year with ICWI as its title sponsor.

Registration for this year’s staging was approximately 3,500 participants, almost doubling the number of participants at last year’s staging.

Chairperson of the Jamaica Reach To Recovery Carolind Graham, who accepted the funds, expressed delight in the positive impact that the funds raised will have on people affected by breast cancer.

“Words cannot express our gratitude in accepting these funds today as it will prove critical for persons who are fighting cancer or have survived cancer. There are many financial costs associated with this disease, so the impact of this donation will be far-reaching,” said Graham.
