The 65th president of the Jamaica Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (JAIFA), one of the oldest membership organisations in Jamaica, is chartered life underwriter Monica Robotham, who won the support of her peers at their recent annual general meeting. She will serve for the period 2017-2018.
Robotham, a unit manager at Sagicor’s Senators Branch, joined the life insurance industry in June 1987. She attained the chartered life underwriter (CLU) designation in 1997 and the chartered financial consultant designation in 2004. She became a life and qualifying member of the prestigious Million Dollar Club in 2006.
Robotham is a graduate of the Jamaica Theological Seminary, specialising in advance church ministries and church leadership. She is the superintendent of the Rev Dr Aaron Dumas-led First Baptist Church Sunday school at Sandringham Avenue in Kingston. Mother of two sons, she is also a grandmother of three.
Robotham leads a 13-member executive board, which will be sworn in at an inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the Knutsford Court Hotel, Chelsea Avenue in Kingston, starting at 6:30 pm.
Established July 4, 1932, JAIFA is the former Life Underwriters’ Association of Jamaica (LUAJ) and comprises over 800 members.
It is the umbrella organisation representing sales representatives from all life companies, bancassurances, agencies and brokerage houses in Jamaica.
