Prime Minister Andrew Holness has said if the economy continues on the current growth trajectory, Jamaica can attain full employment.

He explained that this means Jamaica would be in a position would have a job for every citizen who is able-bodied and can work.

“We can get to the point where we have provided employment for all our citizens but because our national economic environment is such, businesses choose to locate here, and that is where we’re heading,” he declared.

Prime Minister Holness was speaking at a townhall meeting at Closed Harbour Beach in Montego Bay, St. James, on Thursday. Jamaica’s unemployment rate fell to 8.4 per cent in July this year.
