THE cry for assistance from Special Olympics Jamaica (SOJ) has not fallen on deaf ears.

JN General Insurance, part of the Jamaica National Group, recently announced a partnership with the local sporting body that promises to include financial sponsorship and job opportunities for athletes.

Chris Hind, general manager of JN General Insurance, who spoke on Thursday during a luncheon held to recognise the achievement of the Jamaican delegation at the Special Olympics Winter Games in Austria last month, said the aim is to seal a long-term arrangement.

“This is our first step, and I’m sure we will be a partner going forward — JN General Insurance partnering with the JN Foundation,” Hind told the Jamaica Observer shortly after he handed over a cheque of an undisclosed amount to Lorna Bell, the SOJ executive director.
