KINGSTON, Jamaica — Sagicor Group Jamaica recently implemented a work- from-home policy, offering its team members the opportunity and flexibility to complete their duties from the comfort of their home.

The policy, which came into effect in August 2019, was piloted for a period of approximately six months before officially being rolled-out across the group.

Karl Williams, Senior Vice President, Group Human Resources and Corporate Sales & Services, in a statement today, shared that the work-from-home programme is another benefit from the group geared towards further enhancing productivity and team engagement among employees.

Williams noted that in an ever-evolving fast paced world, where increasingly, more and more of the talent pool is looking for greater flexibility in the work-place, employers are having to design innovative approaches and value-added benefits to recruit and retain employees.

“At Sagicor team engagement is a top priority for us and we are always finding ways in which we can strike the balance in improving productivity and helping our team members to achieve a greater work-life balance”, Williams said.

Williams also shared that in addition to the benefits of increased productivity, team engagement and helping to balance work and personal obligations, another big plus of working from home is that employees can, over time, reduce the expenses they would usually incur from commuting.

The group has a work-from-home policy document that details the conditions, process and procedures for employees desirous of working from home.
