SAGICOR Group Jamaica has created a number of ways to facilitate donations to the 20th staging of the Sigma Corporate Run slated for February 18.

Alysia White, assistant vice-president of group marketing at Sagicor, said that so far over 60 corporate teams and 40 non-corporate teams have registered for the run, plus there are individual registrations which all attract a fee.

Apart from registrations, White explained that each of the sponsors’ donations go straight to the beneficiaries.

This year’s beneficiaries are St Christopher’s School for the Deaf in Brown’s Town, St Ann, and Spanish Town Hospital Neonatal Unit.

“We don’t take that cash or any of that money and put on the run. All sponsorship money goes to that $50-million target and goes directly to our beneficiaries,” she told reporters and editors at this week’s Jamaica Observer Monday Exchange.

White also mentioned that donations were received from Food For The Poor, Jamaica Public Service and Toyota Jamaica.

In addition, Ingrid Card, executive director of Sagicor Foundation, said donations can be made through pledges at Sagicor offices across Jamaica, and shared that the company’s staff members have led by example in this regard.
