Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising that preliminary figures indicate that for the month of August the net collections target was exceeded, as the Revenue Authority was able to collect $19.6B, 2.3% over the $19.2B target.
This performance continues the trend which was set in the first quarter of this financial year as collections for the period April to June, when averaged, stood at 108.5% of the $61.9B target. The July 2016 collections continued the upward movement as $19.3B or 100.2% of the $191.1B target was met. As a result, the year to date net collections now stands at $106.4B (6.3%) of the $100.2B projected for the period.
