KINGSTON, Jamaica— Minister of Transport and Mining, Audley Shaw, has appealed to motorists to act responsibly on the roadways, given the growing number of crashes and fatalities being reported.

The minister was speaking at the launch of Road Safety Month, on June 8 at the Future Energy Source Company (FESCO) gas station in Kingston, when he stated that the month of May recorded the highest number of road fatalities since the start of the year, and it is important for drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists to make their own safety and that of others a priority.
